Trials with Black Swan Beauty

All eyes will be on you at your wedding… and your glam squad wants nothing more than for you to feel your most confident and beautiful when you come down the aisle. Every hair should be in place and every shadow perfectly blended. The best guarantee to ensure everything goes exactly as planned? Schedule a trial run!

Some artists call it a bridal preview, some call it a trial, but it’s all the same! A trial run allows your artist to run through your look, top to bottom, start to finish,  so you can see the look you’ve been dreaming of. Our artists are trained on a customized consultation process exclusive to Black Swan Beauty. We view your trial run as a separate service for a multitude of reasons – from the consultation, to the additional half hour of one on one time with your artist factored into your schedule, to allowing for time to make any tweaks or adjustments, we can ensure your look is created perfectly. We stand behind a Black Swan Beauty trial with a commitment to excellent. If a service is not done to our client's standards, we will offer a second trial to perfect the look and ensure we are creating that "wow" factor.

Why are Trials a Must!

Though trials are not required, we do always recommend a bridal trial to be done so we can perfect your dream wedding glam! This allows us to go through a deep consultation about what your ideal wedding day glam looks like, the steps we will take to get you ready, make any changes that you feel are necessary; and most importantly get to know you and your desires.

It’s also the perfect opportunity to get to know your artist’s personality and skill level. A big portion of confidence comes from peace of mind, and we want you to feel comfortable with your artist so they execute your desired style or makeup look. Our artist will walk with you through any series of questions you may have and listen to your loves, dislikes, wants and needs. As professionals we will do all that we can to make our brides happy; but sometimes the desired look falls flat. Have you ever envisioned an outfit for the weekend, and then gone to try it on and maybe the shoes weren’t right? Or the jewelry just didn’t fit? Or maybe, you encountered this while shopping for your wedding dress and went with a dress completely different than you originally anticipated. Depending on your skin type or the type of hair, a trial run is always a good time to discuss different alternatives or suggest some options that will help you achieve your desired look. Your artist can also make recommendations to complement your hair and makeup look which may include purchasing new skin care products, facials, spray tans, hair extensions, or accessories.

Trying New Things

Are you a bride that's never worn makeup before? Never tried airbrush before, and you’re curious to know how it’ll work for you? Or maybe you have fine hair and would like to achieve fuller and voluminous hair the day of your wedding. A trial is the perfect opportunity to try new things out and to see if you will like it or not. And if you love it, we can plan accordingly to make it flawless the day of the wedding!

Before: Trial Run

After: Trial Run

When it comes to having your hair or makeup done, take the opportunity to try new options that you normally might not. If you’re a bride who does natural makeup but would like to be a little more glam the day of your wedding, try adding lashes onto your look or a new bold color to really level up your glam. You might surprise yourself and love it! Adding small details to your look makes such a big difference, and had you not tried it during your trial you wouldn't have known what you were missing out on!

For hair, maybe you want an updo but you're afraid your hair won’t hold up all day, or your hair is too fine and curls are not your best friend. Don’t worry, we got you covered! We look at different options that will help achieve your desired look and can suggest new products that will help maintain your style in the interim between appointments. Adding detail to your hair can complete a look, whether that's adding extensions in, hair pieces, or some face framing with your stylist at your next cut!

How to prep for a your Trial Run

  1. Clean Face, Clean Hair: Come to your appointment with a clean face. If you’re unable to come to your appointment bare faced, just set aside a little additional time and to wash your face or use a makeup wipe just beforehand. Prepping your skin allows you to see how well your skin looks underneath the makeup and allows things to lay more smoothly. When it comes to clean hair, everyone has different ideas of what clean is! We recommend coming in with day two hair or washed within the last 24 hours, and bone dry. Clean, dry hair is a blank canvas for heat and styling products allows you to see how your hair reacts to the stylist’s techniques

  2. Inspo Pictures: Bringing inspiration pictures the day of your trial helps the artist get the best vision of your glam. Bring photos and tell us what you love and dont love about certain features of the photo. We also recommend coming with a few of your favorite selfies on deck!

  3. Accessories: Planning to wear a veil? Not sure about adding a hair accessory to your style? Bring any accessories to your trial to help you visually see what your updo will look like and give the bridal feeling! We can always adjust and rearrange any hair piece  so it’s exactly to your liking.

Every bride wants to feel and look beautiful and confident on their wedding day, and the peace of mind of knowing exactly how you will look is such a vital step! Our team lives for trials, and we can’t wait to get to know your exact glam preferences!
