It’s October! Do we know what that means? No? Well today marks our company's 4th year anniversary! We are truly blessed and grateful to all those who have supported and seen the company grow from a one woman show back in 2018 to 11 talented strong artists in 2022!
Why was Black Swan Beauty Created?
We touched base with our CEO and Founder, Veronica Rogers, to dive deep into our company and what sets us apart. We wanted to know all the details on how the vision for our team was born.
“I was always an ultra Feminine little girl. I wanted to play in makeup and wear high heels and play dress up pretty much from the second I came out of the womb. Unfortunately, I started to develop severe acne at a super young age, which impacted my self esteem. Then makeup transformed from something I always thought was fun, and became something that enabled me to feel comfortable in my skin, even if that comfort was temporary and washed off at the end of each day. I knew how it felt to look in the mirror and not like the reflection staring back at you, and makeup became a creative outlet and a comfort all at once. After beauty school, my view shifted to view makeup and hair styling as a tool to impact how a person felt. While I knew a full coverage makeup look was something that enabled me to feel confident, I also knew it may not be the right selection for everyone. I wanted to create a brand that allowed women to feel their most beautiful and confident –exactly to their own taste and preference instead of putting them in a position where someone else was telling them how they should or should not look. I wanted to focus on how people felt about themselves because I was so well acquainted with feeling so badly about my own reflection and I wanted to make it my mission to save anyone that feeling.

Our team in the past 4 years has grown from a one woman show to now a boasting team of 11 strong individual artists based in Indianapolis and an expanding team in Nashville, TN. With our team growing every year, this has allowed us to expand and put a new emphasis on continuing education for our team.

As the beauty industry continues to grow and change, trends are coming and going. We encourage our artists to expand their knowledge and have a diverse range of skills and techniques for any skin or hair type. Our team goes through in depth education 3 - 4 times per year, for both hair and makeup. Prioritizing not only ongoing education but diving into both fields not only grows our team from an artistry perspective, but makes our team dynamic stronger. Education has become an important corner stone in the company– we not only strive to provide our artists education, but these seminars allow each artist to express any challenges and receive support from the team as a whole.
Our team has a diverse range of artists suited for any and every skin and hair type; young or mature. We are proud to claim that after our 4 years in business, we service over 200 weddings per year in the Indianapolis area and Tennessee.
We’re excited to see what our company will do and grow over the next four years and beyond. We can’t express how truly grateful and blessed we are for the support from our lovely brides, wedding parties, families, and every client that trusted us to glam them over, the incredible network of creative individuals in the wedding industry, and the amazing photographers we have connected with. None of this would be possible without each of you!
